(1) doorknob(n.) 門把

門把的鎖壞掉。

(2) fix(v.) 修理

We are going to have the TV fixed.

我們要請人把電視修好。

(3) repair(v.) 修理、修補

The construction workers are here to repair the road.

施工工人來修補道路。

(4) improvement(n.) 改進、改善

He's been having treatment for two months now without any improvement.

他接受治療已有兩個月了，但毫無起色。

Leaky (adj.) 漏水的。

英文日常會話

A: I am going to do some work around the house at the end of this month as you know a new year is coming. I’ll fix the doorknob first.

B: Finally. This apartment is in need of some home improvement. Will you repair the leaky faucet as well?

A: Yes. I also want to paint my room.

B: While you are at it, do you think you could put some curtains up in my room?

A: Sure. In that case, let’s go to the hardware store to buy tools this weekend.
